- COSIM 2021, an International Symposium on Co-Simulation and Solver Coupling in Dynamics, endorsed by IMSD and IUTAM was organized by LIM researchers on May 24-25, 2021. The event was held online due to the travel restrictions in force at the time.

Pedro Vidal, from Tirso de Molina High School (Ferrol), performed the online defense of his STEM Bach project Ajuste del controlador de un vehículo tipo Segway mediante simulación e implementación del controlador en un vehículo real a escala reducida, carried out under the direction of LIM researchers, on April 9, 2021.

- The 16th International Conference on Multibody Systems, Nonlinear Dynamics, and Control (MSNDC) was held online on August 17-19, 2020. This year, ASME's IDETC/CIE conference series went virtual due to travel and safety restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

K-LIM-08, LIM's research prototype, got retired on March 2020, after 24 years of service to research in Mechanical Engineering. The vehicle will remain on permanent display at the Lab's facilities. More details can be found on this article in La Voz de Galicia (in Spanish).

Marta de Castro and Henar Mariño, students from Sofía Casanova High School (Ferrol), completed and defended their STEM Bach project entitled Simulación del movimiento de un vehículo tipo Segway para el ajuste de su controlador, carried out under the direction of LIM researchers. The defense took place on January 23, 2020, at the Escuela Politécnica Superior of the University of A Coruña.

- The 15th International Conference on Multibody Systems, Nonlinear Dynamics, and Control (MSNDC) was held in Anaheim, California (USA) on August 18-21, 2019. This Conference, for which I was privileged to serve as Program Chair, is part of ASME's IDETC/CIE conference series.

- On July 11, 2019, Christian Díaz Carro defended his graduation project in Mechanical Engineering, Evaluación de métodos de co-simulación para sistemas con componentes mecánicos (in Spanish), carried out within the framework of LIM research projects.

Linear Oscillator

Christian's project used simple mechanical systems to assess how coupling strategies affect co-simulation accuracy.

Course LUT

- Thanks to Prof. Aki Mikkola's invitation, I delivered a graduate-level course on co-simulation at Lappeenranta University of Technology in Finland, on December 2018.

CNIM 2018

- The research paper Un Modelo de Cabeza-Cuello Humano para la Simulación de Impactos Balísticos (in Spanish), presented by LIM researchers at the XXII National Conference in Mechanical Engineering (Madrid, September 2018), was awarded an honorary mention in the area of applied research.

- The first press release of the HiPERFORM project, funded by the European Union, was made public on June 6, 2018.

- An article was published in La Voz de Galicia (in Spanish) on September 28, 2018. We were also interviewed in Televisión de Galicia (in Galician and Spanish) on December 16, 2018.
