RAS/IFRR Summer School on Haptic Interaction, 25-29 September 2006 Paris, France

Through a memorandum of understanding between IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) and the International Foundation of Robotics Research (IFRR) an international summer school on robotics was set up. Previous themes were "Human-Robot Interaction (July 19-23, 2004, Volterra, Italy) and "Robot Design" (September 18-23, 2005, Tokyo, Japan). The theme for this year's summer school is "Haptic Interaction" and will take place in Paris, France between September 25-29, 2006. The summer school this year will be organized by Professors Vincent Hayward of McGill University and John Hollerbach of The University of Utah. The school is generously co-sponsored by IEEE RAS, IFFR and other sources.

PhD students and postdocs are encouraged to apply. Attendance is limited to 30 students only. The week will involve a set of lectures from prominent researchers, group exercises and hands-on work. The lecturers are introduced here.
