Francisco Gonzalez graduated in Mechanical Engineering at University of Navarra (Spain) in October 2004. Then, he moved to the department of Mechanical Engineering at University of Vigo (Spain), where he attended the first year of the doctorate program and, simultaneously, worked as teaching assistant. In October 2005, he joined the University of La Coruña (Spain), to work at the Laboratory of Mechanical Engineering, headed by Prof. Javier Cuadrado. In May 2006, he obtained a doctorate grant from the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science, getting his Ph.D. in May 2010 with a study on efficient implementations and co-simulation techniques in multibody system dynamics. He spent three months at the Lappeenranta University of Technology (Finland) in 2007, and two months at Ressenlaer Polytechnic Institute (USA) in 2009. He was a post-doctoral fellow at the Centre for Intelligent Machines of McGill University (Montreal, Canada) between 2010 and 2014. Since September 2014 he holds a Juan de la Cierva fellowship at the University of A Coruña.

His research interests comprise efficient simulation of mechanical systems, co-simulation techniques, mobile robotics, and non-smooth dynamics.
