Josep Maria Font Llagunes is Associate Professor of Mechanics and Biomechanics at the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC) and Associate Dean of Postgraduate Studies at the Barcelona School of Industrial Engineering (ETSEIB). He is also the Director of the Biomechanical Engineering Group (BIOMEC) and the Biomechanics Division of the Biomedical Engineering Research Centre (CREB).

Josep Maria Font Llagunes received his M.Eng. degrees in Industrial Engineering (2002) and Biomedical Engineering (2004), both from the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC). In 2007, he received his Doctor of Engineering degree from the University of Girona. During the year 2007-2008, he was awarded with a mobility scholarship from UPC to pursue postdoctoral research at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He currently collaborates with the Applied Dynamics Group of the Centre for Intelligent Machines (McGill University).

His research interests cover Biomechanics, Multibody System Dynamics, Rehabilitation Engineering, Contact and Impact Dynamics, Dynamic Walking and Mobile Robotics. He has published more than 80 refereed journal and conference papers in the above areas.

Dr. Font Llagunes is member of the European Society of Biomechanics (ESB), the European Mechanics Society (EUROMECH), the Spanish Association of Mechanical Engineering (AEIM) and the Catalan Society of Technology (SCT-IEC).
