Being a permanent, read-only patch and the first one in the bank, it is always the first patch to greet you when you turn one on. So Juno owners will recognize it instantly. . When I first stared creating this patch, I was not actually trying to make the PolySynth1 sound, but something else. Along the way, I noticed, "hey, this sounds a lot like..." So I tweaked it until I got it right - or as close as I could get. I have an MKS-50 right here in the studio (the rack version of the Juno), so I A/B'ed it with the Nord while building the patch. The Juno filter definitely has a warmer quality, something that cannot be duplicated by the 6db/oct "fuzzify" filter that I threw onto this patch (though the filter helps). . Also, the Juno has a special "PWM sawtooth" wave which the Nord does not have, so the sound on the Juno is slightly more animated as well. But if you did not have a Juno unit to A/B side by side, you'd never notice the difference. It still wierds me out when I hear it. Except THIS PolySynth1 has KNOBS! And you can get 8 voices out of it on a non-micro NM. Try THAT witha Juno 2! . OK, I don't know what happened to the last one. After seeing the flurry of "no wires" complaints on the message list, I loaded the patch off my hard drive, and danged if it didn't really have all the wires gone! . Try this one. It *should* work. . Juno fans, let me know what you think... .
