Sensing and modelling of the geological environment is of tremendous relevance to the automation of hard rock mining machines, especially in hard rock conditions which may be viewed as unstructured environments. Geosensing in this context is concerned with determining the geology, geological structure, ore/waste discrimination, etc. This project is concerned with the development of signal processing techniques for Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), as well as sensor fusion techniques for the combination/enhancement of GPR data using other sensor sources.
