Research Interests


My research goals are to develop modern probabilistic techniques in computer vision and apply them to problems in medical imaging. For example, computer vision techniques based on Bayesian reasoning and information theory will be investigated in the domain of image-guided neurosurgery, which embeds problems in anatomical segmentation, classification, registration, movement tracking and classification.

Key topics of interest: object recognition, recognition based on motion signatures, active vision, active recognition, Bayesian inference, statistical models, statistical pattern recognition, information theory, image registration, face detection, as well as medical imaging, neurology and neurosurgery, including multi-modal image registration and tissue classification.
